Wheelchair fit checker

Will your chair fit? Know before you book.

Enter your measurements in centimetres. We compare them with the ramp or lift, the door and the wheelchair space of every van.

Start from a typical chair
How to measure (about 2 minutes)
  1. Width: measure across the widest point, usually the push rims or the armrests.
  2. Length: from the back of the rear wheels (or push handles) to the tip of the footrests.
  3. Seated height: with the person seated, from the floor to the top of their head. Add a hat if they’ll wear one.
  4. Weight: chair plus person. For power chairs, the manual or the label under the seat lists the chair weight.

      Vehicles

      Ramps, lifts and hand controls

Every van has a lowered or level floor, 4-point tie-downs, a lap-and-shoulder belt for the wheelchair passenger, strong air-conditioning and a portable threshold ramp for kerbs and temple doorways.

      Accessible places guide

Where to go, and how it really is

Typical kinds of places our drivers take guests to, with what to expect. Tick what matters to you, then add places to a day trip.

      City
      Must have

These are general place types, not reviews of particular venues. Access changes with renovations and crowds, so your driver checks the current entrance and toilets before you go.

        Our drivers

Trained to help. Taught to ask first.

Every Openway driver completes our training in wheelchair securing, ramp and lift operation, safe transfers, first aid and CPR, and disability etiquette before driving a guest alone. First aid is renewed every year.

        • We never rush boarding

15 minutes for boarding and securing is part of every quote, at both ends of the trip.

        • We speak to you, not about you

Questions go to the passenger first. We ask before touching, pushing or folding a chair.

        • Secured properly, every time

4-point tie-downs on the chair frame and a separate lap-and-shoulder belt for you, checked together before we move.

        • Late? It’s on us

If we arrive more than 15 minutes late for a pickup we agreed, that trip is 20% off.
