A hotel that reads like a magazine.
Muan is northern Thai for fun — the warm, unhurried kind. We took a row of six 1930s shophouses on Charoen Krung — once a pharmacy, a tailor, a gold shop and three family homes — kept the teak stairs and the hand-painted signs, and turned the rest into 28 rooms, a ground-floor gallery and a rooftop bar that faces the river.
Every room has a turntable and a crate of records chosen by Bangkok DJs. Tell us the mood you want and we’ll set the light, the pillow and the scent before you arrive. Downstairs, an artist lives and works with us for three months at a time.
